Tow/Haul on 5th gen 2019..Does it disengage MDS or not?

Since it's the same drive train as the 4th gen the only way to disable it is to manually shift the gears into 8th. Tow haul wont do it. Or a tune.

Yep other threads on our forum, same result. Some think tow haul disables MDS some say it does not and you must also set your gear selector in 8 in order to disable. Just for the record. the dealers are just as bad with their answers. Really need some of our tech member's to get on on this.

In short, NO. Only putting it in any selected gear. Ie 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 will disable the MDS. And yes, a tuner can just shut it off. Tow haul just holds gears longer depending on the grade and weight (which causes the motor to work harder)of the load. On the highway, tow haul mode will easily kick mds on if you maintain a low grade. I have 4 Rams. I’ve used multiple tuners. This is the gospel I’ve learned. JB
