So just bought a 2018 2500 Outdoorsman with 6.4 Hemi and 4.10's. Do you guys use tow/haul in town and lower speeds? Had a 2007 and a 2013 and ran both in tow/haul unless at a constant 50 or so plus MPH. The 2007 had the 4.7 so we'll not talk about that one...lol. But the 2013 had 3.55's 6 speed with Hemi. Seemed at lower speeds it would do too much up/down shifting so I always ran tow/haul unless at higher speeds consistently.

The new 2018 seems to be ok most of the time but still seems to lug a little at maybe 40 MPH or so. I did notice in tow/haul it downshifts a few times to keep speeds down. Seems my 2013 only downshifted once going down a hill?

Also, what fuel do you guys run? I filled it up tonight for the first time and they put 89 in it. I didn't get an owners manual so can't check there. And FWIW---if it was full when I got it (it was on F but not sure if it was topped off) I got 11.8 MPG on this tank about 80% in town driving

I use 87 local driving.
87 runs just fine.
The 2 oct points ain’t enough to even talk about. Now if I’m gonna be towing or on a long road trip then I fill it up with 93 oct.
this so called mid grade is a mix of 87 & 93 I’ve never understood how that math works out. 87&93= 89

When I had my 2014 CC with the 6.4L I ran it in manual mode around town for a while and then started using the Tow/Haul function. It worked great.

I used 92 octane fuel because I had a tune on the truck from Hemifever that was based on that octane value.
