So I'm traveling cross country pulling a 5k lbs trailer and assorted junk in the bed of the truck. I keep the tow/haul on and have been using cruise control the whole way. Truck does fine, anyone see problems using cruise while in tow/haul? '18 6.4 hemi, 4x4 with regular cab, 8 foot bed and 4.10 gears. Thanks.

I prob wouldn’t even use tow/haul for 5k if it’s relatively flat terrain. I use cruise all the time towing. The engine braking does a decent job of keeping the downhill speed under control.

No problem using cruise in nice flat areas. I personally would not use when in hilly and/or valleys...

Cruise control towing the camper at 65mph in tow/haul. No issues.

The only reason I don’t use CC the downshifts can be hard on the tranny. I tend to drop a gear going up before I hit grade, wind it up, float it over the crest, and let TH take it back down.

I use cc even on moderate hills. When I am approaching a hill I just manually downshift and keep on trucking.

Same, and leave it in that gear for the descent.
