The standard mirrors are fine for a motorcycle or open car hauler. However if you get a full 102" wide enclosed trailer you cannot see the sides or tires without trailer mirrors.
My plans are to purchase a 7' wide travel trailer as I hear they're great to tow. I'm not looking for a large travel trailer, otherwise, I'd probably also be looking at a 2500.

Easy on the Senior Moment, maybe they just want the Moose Ear look. I use mine when towing the larger trailers and down when not. With the electric folding, you don't want them up.

I see lots of people around here driving with ghost trailers, or maybe looking for trucker love? I understand if you're actually towing something sizeable, but otherwise it looks ridiculous to me as well.

Back on topic, I've had 2 rams with towing mirrors and one without. Now that the tow mirrors have all the features that the non tows do, I see no reason not to go with them.
Yeah I don’t understand it either. Must be a city boy thang. I tow my cattle trails all the time without my tow mirrors out and I can see just fine. Maybe if my trails were 45’ or longer I could see it, but towing air yeah I don’t get it.

Look at a 3500 they are cheaper and they tow more. 2500s are High demand do to all the city people buying them for in town driving and grocery shopping. LoL!!

If your looking for a 1/2 ton towable travel trail then look at the new Durango. It is sweet. It’s a 1/2 ton towable goose neck. It is awesome!!!
