i have a 2014 Outdoorsman. The package comes with LT tires on it. When I first got the truck I towed a boat and other trailers fairly frequently so I appreciated the LT tires. I would run them at about 45-50lbs depending on if I was towing or not. I need new tires and due to moving I don’t tow the boat very much at all, only 2 trips a year of about 15 miles, so I don’t really need LT tires anymore and would enjoy the bit of extra fuel mileage and comfort from a P tire.

The question I have is about the TPMS. Is it set to a different warning level on trucks sold with LT tires from the factory or is it the same as trucks that came with P rated tires? I don’t want to get P rated tires and have the warning on the dash every time I drive the truck.

No. The only time the tpms sensor trips is if one of the tires is drastically different from the other 3 tires etc.

Not exactly. It’s not the difference of one tire to the other three, but the threshold for the fronts and rears that the TPMS is set for. The tire inflation sticker on the driver door is what the tpms is set for. The threshold for when the warning comes on is 20% below that number. My truck is 80psi rears and 65psi fronts. If one of my rear tires falls below 64psi (20% below 80), the monitor will instruct me to inflate back to 80 before it resets.
The tpms doesn’t care or differentiate between tire ratings. The warning is set by the tire sticker on the door and doesn’t change. So, if I was to get a rear tire that can only handle 60psi, the tpms warning will constantly be on in my truck, even if that tire is properly inflated.

Actually, using the AlfaOBD app and an OBDLink MX tool, you can change the TPMS settings for the truck. This would allow you to change to the P rated tires (mine are set at 40 psi) and not have to worry about having the warning light on.
