Hi everyone. I have a question, I just received my 2022 3500, my salesman didn’t order my truck with the TPMS, can it be added to the truck and talking about the system that will monitor up to 12 tires or am I better off getting an aftermarket system.

My understanding is all new vehicles form 2008 to present day have to have TPMS from factory .... I don't think im wrong but lets see what others know ....

I thought they all had it too, wish I could get my vehicles without it!

I think as stated, it is a Federal Law that vehicles sold for use in the USA shall have TPMS

So let me clarify that its actually a trailer tire monitoring system that you can add on when you build your vehicle from the factory, It’s a $445.00 add on. My truck does monitor the truck tires.

Oh wtf man !!!! lol ... I honestly missed the monitor up to 12 tires lol ... that I have no clue about ....sorry man lol ...

I believe 3500 and up trucks are not required to have TPMS (at least this was true in 2015). Instead, RAM put a tire pressure information system (TPIS) monitor in the 3500.

I don't know if the trailer monitoring can be added, but I think it would be. Your dealer will know.

Did you ever figure out the trailer TPMS?
I ordered them with my 2022 3500 and just had them installed in my trailer. I set them up at 80psi but it doesn’t seem to save. It set up fine but I hooked up the next day and the truck said that it was not configured. So I did all over it again. Same thing happened. Some days it shows that it just isn’t reading the numbers but I’m not hooked up and most other days it shows not configured even if I am hooked up.
Very frustrating. Would love to know others experiences.
