not sure about other 03's, but mine has given me nothing but problems so far and will probably be traded in fairly soon. only 40k miles, transmission problems, completely changed my front suspension, re alignment every few months for some reason, rotor problems, rear differential cover and under carraige is rusted to ****, and now burning a little oil and im not getting the same power as i did when i bought it... and im only at 40,000 miles...

brought truck to shop and was told that it might be a quick fix, or it might be a complete rebuild, or my torque converter could be going out. tired of dumping money into it, people say boats are nothing but money but im getting the feeling that my truck is that way
debating what to do..

sounds like my 03... 2 trans,motor,rear,axles,water pump,belts,wiring harness..so on and so on... we just picked up a cummins and i gotta say i dont even wanna drive the hemi anymore. look into a cummins. mines getting 22-23 MPG on the highway and 14-18 around town. cant beat it

KBB says my trade in value is like 9,600... so im figuring theyre going to offer me 5. down here, all of my friends and friends of friends and parents friends whove ever owned a dodge the same year or around the same year as mine has the same problems. not sure what the hell i want now, all depends really who gives me the best trade in value and best price.

i had no problems with my 03 4.7 and i ran/beat the hell out of it. had over 100k when we got rid of it. and when i say beat the hell out of it i mean it. 17 years old and in high school at the time i was constantly doing stupid **** in it.

i havent done anything with it. just drive to work and back and tow my boat every weekend. buddies dad had the same thing happen, as well as my grandparents. forgot to add rack and pinion too to the list of "what screwed up on it" just cant see myself throwing more money into it and something else breaking and i have no warranty

i know you had a bad experience, but i had an 05 and had no issues.....kinda still miss it, but i now have a 4th Gen and absolutely love it.

i would get a crew cab 4th gen if the price was right... right now, ford is giving me the best deal on an fx2 and an XLT, both crew cabs. chebby has been persistent assholes, and dodge, well i havent heard back from them yet

Odd... I havnt had any major issues out of my 03 4.7l and it has 182kmiles and counting.

I guess some are good and some are bad

its in the shop right now, decided to bring it in JUST IN CASE, HOPEFULLY, BY SOME MIRACLE that the tranny isnt goin out, that its something VERY MINOR. should know by tomorrow afternoon, the girlfriend is going pick it up while im at work... which means it might be totalled after she drives it...

anyway, i HOPE HOPE HOPE its something minor, like.... under 500... cuz dodge is screaming for an uncracked dash, and remote start.....

i havent had any problems with my 03 cummins it has 118,000 and i have one problem that i am about to fix a noise when i turn and other than that just two tranys(now iam doing a manual swap)
because of constant abuse with my 40 ft toy hauler camper that weighs alot and

Lol its been running fine since the flush, knock on wood. Thinking about doing a 3 inch spindle lift and keyless start now.... and getting rid of these brand new boss wheels because I want black rims lol
