i have a 2010 1500, and i just got a tekonsha break controller for my trailer. i hooked it up with the appropriate dodge harness. the power comes on, and i don't get any "troubleshooting" messages. it acts and reads as if everything is working. when i am towing the trailer and trying to test it with the manual slide, i do not feel any break sensation...even when all the way up to 13. we hooked my trailer up to my neighbor's truck to see if it would work with his factory oem controller. it did, and it also would initiate the trailer break lights when we slid his manual slide without pressing pedal. when doing that on my truck, i would get no trailer break lights. this is telling me that it is something with the controller. i was told when i bought the controller, that it was plug and play and required no trip to dodge for any kind of programming. am i missing something?

Can you switch to "Heavy Electric" on your evic? I would think that is the problem. You may be on "light electric".

I have the same controller on my 2011. No issues at all and I'm not even sure trucks from our year have the ability to adjust the electric to "heavy electric". In any case, I did not have to do it to have my brake controller work

I would suggest you go back and check your connection to the wiring harness. Even pull it apart and re-connect. Sometimes those connections can be a little difficult. If that did not work, I would get out my volt/ohm meter and start tracing with the output of the brake line wire, out of the harness first. It is possible you could have got a bad harness.

You should enlist some help so you can trace while someone else presses the brakes
