2016 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi.....

When slowing, coming to a stop, at times, the truck/transmission seems to "jump" or downshift and it is sort of a jerky type shift.

This does not happen all the time. Periodic.

No noticed performance issues or problems for this.

Called the dealer and they said to bring it in, still under warranty, but, only when the Ram is doing this.
So when it is not happening, I can't take it in....

Is this normal, has anyone else experienced this and/or is this an issue with the trans or possibly damaging it?

Happened to me yesterday when pulling a trailer with my lawnmower on it. Worst thing happened when it bumped, jumped, it unloaded my mower at the traffic light when I took off. Felt like someone ran into the back of me. I have a thread started on down the posts. ( Transmission Shifting Issue ) It did that twice. Lord was watching after me.

Its normal for the transmission. It has something to do with how this transmission downshifts. Look at your RPM's next time you come to a stop and you will see the needle deflect ever so slightly when you feel the "bump"

Some folks claim it to be fuel sloshing in the tank

FCA replaced my transmission under warranty for the same issue after 5+ tripsmto the dealer. Don't let them tell you it's normal. My new transmission shifts beautifully. Escalate to corporate and open a new ticket everytime you take it in. I had around 21k miles when the issue started.
