My 2020 Ram 1500 truck was broken into this afternoon in a parking lot. When I walked out I noticed my driver-side window was cracked on the bottom right side. I'm no expert but it looks like someone used a Slim Jim or some device they forced in to open the door. My truck came equipped with push start Ignition and a Key Fob. I typically press the button to lock the doors twice and it locks all 4 doors and the horn honks to let me know that it is locked. I've always assumed that it is a factory alarm that would sound off if I ever had a break in.

When I drove home I made sure all doors were closed and I pressed the lock button on the key FOB twice rapidly and I could hear the doors lock, but there was no horn honk or chirp. I unlocked and locked the truck several times with the FOB and there was no change. Does anyone recognize what may be causing this? I already filed a claim with my insurance to get my window fixed but I didn't know of this issue until after my report so I will be calling them back tomorrow to add this issue and I'm certain the issue has to do with the manner in which they broke in, I just don't know exactly what was affected or damaged. Short of taking it to the dealer, I wanted to try the forums here to see if anyone could shine a light on this. Thanks in advance for the help and I'm glad I found a new community to join.

Does the horn work at all? There's settings in the radio that can turn the horn chirps on/off for all the various lock, unlock, remote start, etc.

Check settings, then look to see if the thief cut the horn wire or if you're lucky unplugged it.

I haven't tried actually honking the horn from the steering well, however I did try to activate the panic alarm using the key FOB and the lights would blink continuously (as usual) but the horn didn't sound. I'll try honking the horn from the steering well when I get home to see if it's not working all together or it's just related to the Alarm. I'll also check the settings in the radio settings as you suggested, however I never changed anything there so I don't know if the guy that broke in would've/could've changed the settings.

Thank you. Do uou know where I can check to see if the horn wire was cut? Is that underneath the dash somewhere or under the hood?

I'd be surprised if honking the horn from the steering wheel will work either, the vehicle horn is fed from the BCM so alarm and steering wheel are the same.
The horn location on the DT body trucks is under the core support for the radiator, probably can see it through the grill.

Best guess is where the horn is next to the rad as crash stated. About the only place to disable the horn without the alarm being heard. If it was done under the dash you'd likely have noticed.

VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM (from manual) (I'll just post all the info on the alarm, so U can look and troubleshoot, check horn "fuse also")

VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM
The vehicle security alarm monitors the vehicle doors,
tailgate, and ignition for unauthorized operation. When the
vehicle security alarm is activated, interior switches for
door locks are disabled. The system will turn the horn off
after 29 seconds, 5 seconds between cycles, up to 8 cycles if
the trigger remains active and then the vehicle security
alarm will rearm itself.
To Arm The System
Follow these steps to arm the vehicle security alarm:
1. Remove the key from the ignition system (refer to
Starting The Engine in Starting And Operating for
further information).
• Make sure the vehicle ignition system is OFF.
2. Perform one of the following methods to lock the
vehicle:
• Push lock button on the interior power door lock
switch with the driver and/or passenger door open.
• Push the lock button on the exterior Passive Entry
Door Handle with a valid key fob available in the same
exterior zone (refer to Keyless Enter- N-Go — Passive
Entry in Getting To Know Your Vehicle for further
information).
• Push the lock button on the key fob.
3. If any doors are open, close them.
The vehicle security alarm will set when you use the power
door locks, or use the key fob to lock the doors. After all the
doors are locked and closed, the vehicle security light, in
the instrument panel cluster, will flash rapidly for about 16
seconds to indicate that the alarm is being set. After the
alarm is set, the vehicle security light will flash at a slower
rate to indicate that the system is armed.
To Disarm The System
The vehicle security alarm can be disarmed using any of
the following methods:
1. Push the unlock button on the key fob.
2. Grasp the Passive Entry Unlock Door Handle with a
valid key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the passive entry door
handle. If equipped, refer to Keyless Enter-N-Go —
Passive Entry in Getting To Know Your Vehicle for
further information.
3. Place the ignition out of the “OFF” position.
The vehicle security alarm is designed to protect your
vehicle. However, you can create conditions where the
system will give you a false alarm. If one of the previously
described arming sequences has occurred, the vehicle
security alarm will arm regardless of whether you are in
the vehicle or not. If you remain in the vehicle and open a
door, the alarm will sound. If this occurs, disarm the
vehicle security alarm.
If the vehicle security alarm is armed and the battery
becomes disconnected, the vehicle security alarm will
remain armed when the battery is reconnected; the exterior
lights will flash, and the horn will sound. If this occurs,
disarm the vehicle security alarm.
Rearming Of The System
If something triggers the alarm, and no action is taken to
disarm it, the vehicle security alarm will turn the horn off
after 29 seconds, 5 seconds between cycles, up to 8 cycles if
the trigger remains active and then the vehicle security
alarm will rearm itself.
Security System Manual Override
The vehicle security alarm will not arm/disarm if you
lock/unlock the doors using the manual door lock plunger
