A little history on the work I’ve done . I have changed the throttle position sensor , I’ve removed the mass airflow sensor and plugged it back in , it works . I have changed the crankshaft sensor , I have fixed a major vacuum leak and I’ve changed the oil . My truck stars fine , idles at 700 rpm when parked . But when I put it in gear the speedometer will go up and down until I get a steady pace , then it will reevaluate its self , until I stop COMPLETELY. When I do the speedometer will go crazy and the truck will die . But it will start back up and drive fine , it never dies unless I am stopped , some times it does when going in reverse or it’ll just die while parked .

I had the same issue with dying at complete stop, and couldn’t figure it out for more than a year. There is a harness with a bunch of wires at the “bulkhead”. Mine was rusted and grounding out the speed sensor. Mechanic was able to basically jury-rig it. Replacement can be relatively expensive.
