I have wanted a full size truck for a long while and we are a 1-vehicle family. It took me a while to convince my wife, but now I finally have the truck of my dreams. We recently purchased this Cherry Red 2014 RAM 1500 Quad 4x4, 5.7 HEMI, 3.55, P275/60R20 tires, Black aluminum wheels, and Dual exhaust. It came with the tow package and running boards. But I am new to towing, for example, I don't yet understand if I need to get an aftermarket tow hitch receiver or if the one factory installed on my truck is fine. I have the Express model so it doesn't have overhead console Map lights, which I really wish it had. So that may be my first MOD to tackle.

Congrats on the new truck! I don't know how much you want to tow but if you have the factory tow package I beleive it is a class 4 hitch on a 1500. It holds plenty of weight. I'm sure someone with exact knowledge will chime in.

My truck is a '12 Crew Cab Express and it came with a class 4 hitch... plenty for what a 1/2 ton will tow.
