Trying to figure out what gears I have

Hey guys, I have been trying to figure out what gears I have. Looking at what I can tow.

I have a 14 1500 5.7 4x4 6 speed with a 6'4 box. It's a model sxt in Canada. I assume it has 3.21's since I didn't order the truck. But in every tow chart I have seen for the ram. 3.21's aren't available on a 6 speed with 4x4.

Either 8 speed with 4x4 or 6 speed in 4x2 have the 3.21. The payload on the door sticker is 1334 which I can't find either. Gvwr is 6800.

Did I miss something here? Anyone smarter than me able to figure it out?

first thing i'd do is go to the ram website. go to the contact us part and send an email. give your VIN and ask for a build sheet. should get you every detail that went into the build of your truck.

not sure if the dealer can do it or not... but you can usually get a reprint of the window sticker, too.

wait. another option.
have you registered on ownerconnect on the ram website? i am. and my truck is listed... and most of the vehicle details are listed as is the gear ratio.

Sometimes there is a tag affixed to one of the diff cover bolts and there may be a sticker in the glovebox.

But I'd recommend going to the Dodge site as linked above, enter your VIN and tell them you'd like the build sheet on the truck. They will email it to you. Then you'll have all the build data, sales and options code relevant to your truck.

I looked all over the axle, and with a winter in the books I can't really read anything.

it's on top of the rear axle on the left right around the coil. kinda hard to get to unless you're small. easier to just get your build sheet tho

looks like I have 3.21's..... Not what I wanted, but what I figured.

So what tow rating do I have? I can't find my truck in any "tow guides" Do I have the ultra rare poorly equipped Ram?

Like I said in my original post. Its either 4x2 6 speed with 3.21. or 4x4 8 speed with 3.21.

I think that list is for the 3500 not 1500.

But that's the same style I looked at for the 1500. Which I couldn't find my exact configuration.

Not sure what's going on. Going to call the sales guy I bought it from see if he has any idea
