Six months ago, I bought a 2005 SLT 1500 quad cab 4x2 with a long bed. She's got 190k miles. The seller kindly provided all service records.

I've performed the following maintenance and looking for feedback re: am I missing anything?

Maintenance performed thus far:
  1. Oil Pressure Sensor (hellova scare the day after I bought it)
  2. New AGM battery to replace the dying battery (and post clamps)
  3. Replaced Idle Air Controller Sensor (erratic idle)
  4. Replaced Throttle Position Sensor (because of erratic idle, might as well do both while I'm there)
  5. Transmission Flush, (with/ new tran filter & filter kit pan)
  6. New tires (and an alignment!)
  7. conventional oil change (no point in switching to synthetic at this point)
  8. Drop-In "K&N style" air filter
  9. Throttle Body has been cleaned
  10. airbox has been cleaned (along with the little sensor inside)
  11. Replaced Upper and Lower passenger control arms
  12. New windshield (had a chip)
  13. New wipers
  14. Airbag Recall
  15. Rear Axle Pinion Nut Recall (dealer had to "rebuild the whole thing")

Maintenance which I believe should be performed:
  1. plugs (bought 8x Champion RC12MCC4 (439) Copper Plus Spark Plugs)
  2. coolant flush (looks like it's been 100k miles since)
  3. brake fluid flush
  4. power steering flush
  5. check rear rotors, pads
  6. PCV valve, which I forgot to install while I had the airbox off :-/
  7. replace wiper motor to fix the crazy wipers
  8. clean the wiper fluid reservoir so the light will go off.

Items of concern:
  1. Serpentine belt was last changed roughly 100k miles ago
  2. Front brake pads have little life left. Records show rotors were turned once. I plan to replace both pads and rotors at the same time.
  3. No records re: replacing the hubs, so I'll include those while I do front brakes. I haven't experienced any issues/concerns with the hubs, but at 190k miles, I might as well replace.
  4. Tie rods/sway bars...front end stuff. I'll inspect when I do the brakes.
  5. oil pan is leaking. Not bad, but it's leaking. Will tighten bolts to see if that helps.
  6. I found a recent record where the dealer reported the power steering was leaking. Will need to investigate.
  7. If the dealer replaced the rear axle pinion nut, doesn't that mean they replaced the rear differential fluid and cleaned the rear axle pumpkin?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Only thing I would add is to clean the throttle body.

Yeah if your hubs are good I'd leave em alone. Often times replacing stuff that doesn't need it just ends up causing more issues. Plus needlessly empties your wallet. If your hubs go bad they'll let you know.

Thanks everyone. I'll clean the TB and will check the front suspension and hubs when I change the brakes...hopefully this weekend, weather permitting.

I would replace the spark plug wires as well.

Is there a recommended brand for such wires?

Not particularly from what I've heard. No brand over the other will offer better performance. Only advice I can give ya is that everyone complains about shorty wires. Run the full length. Apparently the shorties most often cause problems.

4.7's have no distributor - no plug wires.

I was talking about the plug wires from the coilpacks. Forgot we were ******' about a 4.7 here but he still has coil packs right? They make full length or shorties for them too.

4.7s have thinner wires running right to coils right above the plugs. IDK, I did my plugs once and parts store said I "didn't have" spark plug wires. At least not the type that people replace commonly.

I'll search the forums to see what other have said about ignition wire replacement/ maintenance intervals.
