Not a lot of diesels here so might be better off asking on a cummins specific forum? I know a lot of people do swap them but don't remember anyone mentioning taking the fender liner out to do so

What you are talking about is how I work on these trucks with or without a lift. I remove the right front fender liner and do my work over the top of the frame rail. Makes it really easy for me.on the 4x4 trucks I remove the upper shock mounts and drop the shock. It's only a few nuts and bolts and it makes it easier for me.

Yes, but in general this is a Gas centric forum and those diesel folks that do come here are not talking about mods like this. Now if you want to know what's the best oil, this is the place!
There are cummins/HD specific forums that get a lot more traffic by diesel owners and ones that go much deeper into maintenance and mods.
This thread doesn't seem to be overflowing with answers at this point so I think I'm spot on with my post.

That is the easiest way to do the actuator but for the whole turbo seems like it is mixed. If you remove the EGR can do it from the top. If not the side is way easier from what I can tell.

I know this thread is old but I installed a 5" turboback SP. Thru the fenderwell. The turbo is right there. If I was to replace the turbo that is how I would do it.
