ProComp 6”
No preload spacer with Bilstein 5100 @ .7
20x8 stock wheels
35x11.5 ridge grapplers

Now here comes the multilayered questions about the changes I’d like to make to the truck.

I want to do the following:
Adjust Bil 5100s to 1.4 To get some rake out of it
1.5 or 3” body lift for a little more height
17x10 -24 wheels
37x12.5 tires

Now onto my questions:
ProComp says I can’t run smaller than 18s, but then again I think a few other lift companies say that but then you see examples of people running 17s.

ProComp makes a blanket statement of “18s with no more than 5’ backspace”...........would my above described wheels work on my ProComp kit? Why do the loft companies say no 17s yet I see some guys able to do it on these same kits??!

my last question: regards to the body lift, is there anything other than what comes in a PA 3” kit that I’d have to get to make it work since I’m combining it with a 6” suspension kit?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The reason for wheel size is so the manufacturer can safely assume that most wheels will fit without rubbing. You risk rubbing your tie rods with a small diameter wheel. And some lift manufacturers have a dog leg in the knuckle/spindle plate, that you will rub if you have to much back spacing.

I suggest researching how to measure wheel and tire fitment on a vehicle and go from there. It is fairly simple once you see how it is done. Then you will know exactly what will fit with what back spacing.

Nothing else is needed with the body lift. It is completely separate from the suspension lift.

Thanks for the response!

Any suggestions on where to go for measuring things?
