Found an 8.4 setup complete with radio, bezel, and a/c controls included for a screaming deal. It does not however include any wiring harnesses. My question is, what else is needed to get this to work in my tradesman?

Also, this unit is from a 1500, and mine is a 2500. Is there any reason that this is not a direct swap? I have the AlphaOBD so I should have the programming part taken care of. Just need compatibility advice.

The HVAC control module is different on the 2500/3500. Also, if you have a 4sp blower (instead of the 7sp one) there is another piece (blower resister) you will need. M2Mods (@Mpgrimm2) makes the harness you will need.

So, how much is the harness and resistor? Is the resistor like an electronic component or like a module that plugs into the harness?

So will the A/C controls not work with the 4 speed fan as is? I dont need the 7 speed if the system will recognize the 4 speed and work without the module.

Did you get a 2013-2017 8.4 Ra3/Vp3-NA or Ra4/VP4-NA radio? What PN?

What's the PN on the HVAC module that came with it? For your 2500 it should be 68105017Ax

To complete your 8.4 HVAC conversion/ install you need

From Mopar:
- compatible 13-17 8.4 radio
- 8.4 HVAC bezel (1uj96xxx or 1uj97xxxx)
- 68105017Ax HVAC module
- 68048901AA 7speed fan resistor
. . . ( Denso PN 499300-2121)

From M2 Mods...
- 4 (to 7) speed conversion harness: $145
- 4 to 7 speed fan/resistor harness: $55
(Our v3 is plug n play. Nothing to repin)
- Cell Bypass Plug: $30

Note:
The 8.4 Bezel/HVAC controls & audio/volume will not work without the conversion. If you have steering wheel audio controls on back of the wheel, to can install the radio behind the existing bezel/controls and get limited functionality but it won't for well and you can't interact with the HVAC system via on screen menu.

The one I am looking at is the Ra3 mostly, as they seem to sell cheaper. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on one though.

Ok, so if I can find a single zone, 4 spd A/C controller from a heavy duty model, what is required for getting the install done? Does it still need the same stuff regardless of the donor vehicle?
