Unable to shift to 4WD

Howdy,
I just noticed that my 2019 5th gen wont change from 2WD to any other dial. I hear gears trying to move or something but it stops eventually. I havent take it in yet. Anyone else seen this issue?

Are you in park or drive when trying to go into 4wd? Is the 4wd light coming on? are you trying 4wd high or 4wd low? I find it goes into 4 high easy if I’m in drive and barely rolling. I make sure I’m in 4 high and in neutral before shifting to 4 low

Ive tried in park or drive. Same result. It used to work both.

Sounds like you have the borg warner transfer case. There is an (electrical) actuator motor that needs replacing, most likely. See it on the pic in the middle

Could be several issues. It could be software, one of the modules, or the shift fork in the front axle (most common from what I've read).

Mine rarely shifts and I'm pretty sure it is the front axle shift fork but the dealership "could not reproduce" the issue during my last visit.

If it tries to shift and you eventually get a service 4wd system error on your display then there should be a code stored that the dealership can read to determine where the issue lies.
