I don't know if any of you other folks have had good experiences with trade ins and or out right buying, but there is a 3500 Laramie Longhorn in my local area that I am really interested in.

Mega cab, dually with the 6.4 Hemi....great looking truck...2019. They have it listed on the lot for $65k. I'm wondeirng if most guys have had good experiences with their trade ins...next April I will have paid 3 years on my 2018 1500 Bighorn.

I don’t think I’ve ever had any good value for trade, definitely try and sell it privately, unless you got that itch you just can’t help but scratch. Trading is certainly the easier way to get into a different truck.

As I've stated before in a different thread, I got WAY MORE than I thought I would on my trade in for my 2016 1500 4x4 Express Quad Cab with 98K miles.

Give it a shot, tell them what the least is that you will take and see if they can make it happen. Pretty sure they'll be able to work something out, as the used car market is super hot right now.

Good luck!

Prices are crazy right now and I hear trade value is pretty good. But purchase prices are also up so I think it's a wash in the end? More for your trade but paying more for the new truck. You have also only had your truck for just a little over 2 years so you paid a lot of interest up to now and not a lot of principle.

Mega cab dually is a lot of truck for a gas engine, I'd think real hard on that. Resale value won't be great since I rarely see anyone looking for a gas dually? Just some things to keep in mind.

Person I know just traded in a 2011 Tundra for 2019 Ram 3500....he said he got $16,500 for his Tundra and bought the 3500 for about $28k...I know he was paid off on the Tundra.

I guess I'll wait til next April.

This was the one I was looking at:

What are you doing that makes you consider a DRW 3500?
It's there....LOL

Not anything specific as far as a 3500, but the price is pretty low on it. I tow a camper and sometimes a dump trailer, a little bit more truck would be nice. A 2500 would be plenty.

Personally 65k is steep for a 3500 6.4l drw. I'm sure it was loaded up but not very desirable truck. Most that get drw need the diesel. May hurt your resale. But it's your money and your happiness

The payload on a 3500 CC DRW with the Hemi in Tradesman trim tops out around 4100 pounds where the same truck with a Cummins is in the low to mid 5000 pound payload range.

A Hemi in the 2500 is awesome but not so much in a 3500 dually.

Funny.... my CC SRW 3500 Hemi tradesman payload is 4272lbs.... Don’t believe the DRW will be less.

I believe you’ve read the wrong chart.

Ram body builder lists it at 6680lbs... perfect for those large Lance campers!

Yeah, thanks for the correction. I meant to say SRW not DRW... The vehicle I looked at is below.

2020 Ram 3500 Hemi SRW 4x4 Tradesman - 3C63R3GJ2LG154039 - 4267# payload.
