how did you make that scoop that is attached to yours?? I would think that would bring more air to the intake
Hey Ramsportrocks, I made it using the lost foam method. Made a positive mold using strofoam, covered it in packing tape, covered that in epoxy resin then a layer of fiberglass. After it cured I cut an opening at both ends and poured paint thinner into it until all the foam was melted out. Then I simply pulled the tape out and finished it as you see it. All the rubber trim, seals came from Steele Rubber. I had to relocate my overflow tank too so I could adapt the 4th gen Air Grabber to my 3rd gen, for which they don't exist. I guess its been about 3 years now and has held up better than expected, but I'm going to re-paint it this year I believe. It's all completely removable too with butterfly bolts for the pan, the scoop is held into place by mini hood latches.

Some from the inside... When I refinish it this year, I'm going to re-block it and make it perfectly smooth this time before I repaint it. No cracks or breaks though, but it's also slightly flexible. The rivets you see hold a plastic screen (the open light diffusers used in ceiling florescent lighting) in place to keep large objects from entering, birds, large bugs, etc.
The aluminum tape on the back keeps the scoop nice and cool since it sits on top of the radiator it got really hot, but after this it stays nice and cool to the touch after running it.
