What do I need to be looking for in a new VGT actuator? Is a $380 eBay one sufficient or do I need an $800 City Diesel?

Who made that $380 ebay special VGT actuator? Does it need to be recalibrated after install? The City Diesel one does not.

Don't cheap out here... go with City Diesel.

I replaced one in my friends truck a few years ago. FYI, if you are using alfaOBD to calibrate the new actuator it took probably a dozen tries to make the process work for us. Maybe it's fixed by now but don't give up trying if you see failure messages in Alfa.

I am pretty sure my buddy got a cheap reman unit but I wouldn't suggest it either. To be fair though, his has been running strong for a few years now. So you do you
