I'm gonna have to follow some of your threads, you do some awesome write ups. If it wasn't for the round hole did you like the light output from rigid or visionx more?

Thank you and great question! I find both to be great lights. I just want to point out the fact the Rigid lights in my review are not their newer “PRO series.” I would expect the Rigid products now to be a bit brighter (as advertised). Also, while keeping the same price point. Pretty nice.

I am just being honest, the way my light cannons are recessed, it’s hard to get a 100% representation of their output. Eventually new custom mounts will be welded in. Stoked for that day.

If you where to ONLY go with either the VX CG2 multi led cannon or the rigid Dually XL in Rigid’s driving beam. It would be a tough call. Honestly. I like them both and the light patterns are totally different yet equally satisfying.

I would say I am leaning more towards the VX CG2 light due to:
- I like the clean look of a round light. Looks more “Off Road” in my opinion. Probably in part due to the old school KC round lights.
- I get more distance on the CG2 multi LED cannons with a nice peripheral throw of light into the ditches comparing to Rigid Driving.
- VX wiring harness is truly twice what Rigid currently offers. No joke, VX has the best plug and play robust wiring harness I have come across.

Now, I would say, Rigid’s driving beam do a better job of blasting light directly in front of your vehicle. I would say the distance is equal to that of “high beams.” The light is very intense with a wide smooth blend. It it actually pretty awesome to see these guys kick on.

I would argue Rigid has more optic designs than VX. VX is relying on plastic snap on filters. Which is ok. But, check out both companies product lines. Rigid might have something more up your alley. In my case, VX had me sold. But you really cannot go wrong either way. I am not trying to endorse VX but I will yet you know I have zero buyers remorse.

Either way, let me know what you decide, I am curious :). Buying lights at these price points are always a tough call. Good luck.

I hope my photos help influence you in making an educated choice.

Edit:
I have a basic Rigid XL write up on this forum. Here is a link I got off google.

Wow. Is it really been almost three years since the start of this review?!?!

How are the lights holding up? Do I like them? Do I still have them?

Well, I removed the lights from my bumper and the lights are fiiiiiilthy......

I used some quality car wash soap, water, bucket, soft brush and.....

^ All four look like this! Straight brand new as if I pulled out of the box! No gloss, wax or shine materials/ chemicals added. Just car wash soap, bucket, water and soft brush. (Did not get water/soap on or near connection plug). The housing has held up beautifully! How does the front look.....

All four look like this! I just couldn’t fit them all in the photo and get a good close up. No discoloration, fading, condensation, nothing. Mirror finish reflection and crystal clear lens. Absolutely fantastic! These two above are the pair I bought almost 3 years ago.

How about some long over due night output shots of all four?! Keep in mind, I am using an iPhone 8. I mounted the lights on the top hoop of my bumper on a straight piece of wood (temporary just for the review). They are 100% unobstructed and free to cast every drop of light into the environment.

This area is prefect because it is a residential neighborhood being built....

That is just ONE light! Only one. Wow. It blew me away how much light I was losing in the recessed bumper mount location. Truly incredible light. Brighter in person and photo does give you a good idea. Autofocus limits some of the surrounding flood/ distance. In person you can see the trees illuminated in the back.

All four lights....

Now, when it comes to all four, the photo is definitely lacking. You get a good idea but all the trees in the background, in person, are all brightly illuminated. Also, all the houses have a blanket of white light. A true sight to behold. I loved it. Great lights!

^ I angled the two lights on the outside out and kept the two center pointing straight. Great lights! Blew me away when I first turned them on! Looking directly at them is like looking into the sun!!

I highly recommend these lights. Sorry for the delay in getting these photos up. What do you guys think?

What is my next step? See next post :)

I am thinking about picking up these amber replacement lenses. They are new and at the time of this post not on VisionX website.

What a reeeeally want is this VisionX grill. Reason being is my lights need relocating badly. This grill would be perfect! It is rather expensive. So, right now it is just a day dream. Maybe at some point I can financially justify picking one up. :) would be awesome.

Discuss? Thanks for reading.

*** EDIT ***

I reached out to “Headlightrevolution” regarding a potential VisionX grill purchase. $999 for the grill only :(. Was expecting under $750. I am kinda bummed. I will stayed tuned for any potential promotions. I would love to run that grill with my CG2 cannons.

I decided to get a few more photos before I install these lights back in my bumper. I took all the following photos today:

^ I drove out to the desert. The rocky face of this hill measures 530’ away utilizing Google Maps GPS. Got a photo waiting for the sun to set.

^ Still waiting for the sun to go down further. Just a sneak peak.

^ All four VX 4.7” CG2 multi LED cannons aimed at the same spot. These are absolutely amazing!

^ kept two pointing straight. Angled one out on each side. Very compact yet powerful.

^ angled all four out.

^ different view point of all four angled out.

Awesome lights! I am super satisfied. I am not looking forward to putting them back in my bumper :(. Very high quality high performance lights!

Btw, this is just an amateur review. I am not associated with any lighting Vendor, VisionX or any lighting company. I hope you all enjoyed!

Just a quick update!! I still have these lights and they are fantastic! They truly look and perform as if brand new. Great lights and I have since relocated them on my truck. I’ll post some photos up as time permits.
