Did a quick search about this but didn't see anything just like my question. My information panel started showing a "Brake light out" message and showing the right light out. And then showing "Turn signal light out" message for the right side. They would come on just as I was pushing the start button. I checked the lights and sure enough the brake and signal light on the right side weren't working. Not knowing any better, I thought--easy fix, just get a couple of $3 bulbs and put in. Didn't think about them being LED and having to replace the whole assembly. So, I got an aftermarket assembly, installed, checked all the functions and they work. But now the message is still showing up. The lights are still working. How do I resolve this?

Wanted to add that the right tail and stop light were not working. So it wasn't just the third brake light on the cab.

Check the 3rd brake light on the top of the cab for a burnt out bulb.

^This.

On my truck the EVIC always shows the right side lamp out no matter which one it actually is.
And it has always been the 3rd brake light. My L/R lamps are LED from the factory and have never burned out. My reverse and 3rd brake were incandescent until I replaced both with LED bulbs and the LEDs have lasted.

OK guys, you hit the nail on the head :pokeowned:The 3rd brake light is out, even though the tail light in it works. I have a topper on the bed and it hides the one on the cab. The stop light on the topper works. It looks like I'd have to remove the topper to get to the cab light and get it off, so I'll just tolerate the warning message that goes away after a minute or so. I sure didn't find any way to clear it from the Diver Information Center in the owner's manual. Now I can move on to some other life's pressing problems.

What LED reverse bulbs are you using? The only ones I have seen have an open, exposed socket outside of the tail light housing.

It was a bit of misadventure. I have a 2014 Laramie, halogen projector headlights (that always seems to matter) and also the LED taillight/brakelight. I wanted to replace the reverse, license plate, 3rd brake light, and cargo lights, all with LED. This was 2 years ago and I'm afraid I might have to pull one apart tomorrow and take a look to be sure.

Once all the new bulbs arrived, from different sources, I started with the reverse bulbs and discovered I had ordered the wrong type. I don't want to make that mistake again so I'll verify tomorrow and let you know. I'll take a pic of two as well.

I've been wanting to do this anyway. I do remember I used Auxito and Lasfit. Whichever went into the reverse lamps made a HUGE difference.
The old were useless but the new LEDs are more like floodlights. Also, I got no CanBus issues from any of the LED bulbs I used.

OK I got curious, and I've been meaning to chase this down for a while anyway, so here are some pics. Apparently I got a pack of Auxito 194 because I still have the extras. Also, my reverse setup looks like your description of yours. They've been in since July 2023 so they've been holding up pretty good. I have not had to replace any rear light bulbs since going to LED.

^These are the 194, can't recall where I used them, license plate maybe? You can see the base is very small compared to the reverse LEDs I used.

Below are the reverse LEDs. Note the similar but much larger base...

That's what I was wondering about, the OEM plug being outside of the housing, exposed to the weather. But if you're in PA, with the salty roads, I'm hoping that shouldn't be a problem for me. And for my high mount/3rd brake light, I have the Morimoto one

Yup, but as you can see the OEM bulb is exposed the same way. The LED has a "pigtail" about 6" long, but the OEM harness connects to the OEM bulb outside the enclosure, as do the brake lights and the front fog lights.

EDIT: Your Morimoto looks nice. I thought I'd start with bulbs and go from there, but the reverse was most desperately in need of upgrade and the LED made the greatest difference there.

The license and cargo lamps are brighter white but don't produce a huge difference, same with the 3rd brake light. It's just a bit more intense but not significantly so.

I used Auxito 912/921 in the 3rd brake light.

And, Auxito 7440/7443 in the reverse lights.

They're an incredible improvement over the incandescent bulbs.

Both sets of bulbs installed directly in the OE lamp sockets in my '21 Warlock, no additional pigtails.

Both sets are nearly 2 years old. One of the 921s in the third brake light just recently started misbehaving, it's dim and intermittently flickering -time to remove and inspect.
I sent a note to the vendor to inquire about a warranty; no word yet.

Yes, the BCM has been tweaked to accommodate LEDs.

I just loosened my topper and pushed it back 1”, sufficient to remove the tail light assembly. Replaced bulb, code gone. Pushed topped back and secured. The only sad thing is the manual said I had LED lights here, which they are not in my 2016. Wasted a few bucks on that assembly, but got a nice gasket, lol.
