On this RAM, year 2011, the rear right fender is rusted through in several areas.
Unfortunately no rust protection was used on this vehicle.
It is a typical place where 2 sheets were fixed together.
It is disappointing that the factory does not pay attention to durability.
The vehicle is only used on the road in a region where there is no sea nearby or where salt is used for thawing.
Maybe you can do something good for your RAM and apply a cavity sealant before it is too late.

Good luck
Frank

Its my understanding that ram is notorious for wheel well rust. When i looked over my used 2012 ram, before buying, thats one of the first things i looked for. I dont have knowledge on the subject as to why it happens, it was just one of those things you hear about in passing.

When i got her home i did some diy prevention on the underside and still no issues

I had same problem and Chrysler would not fix it under warranty said because I live in North East. First Chrysler product I've bought new don't think I'd buy another. Is a problem with their design water gets trapped in where panels are "glued" bonded together. You can see it in the op pics behind where the metal used to be. Pretty much every truck I looked at at the Mopar nationals had it.
