I wish to report progress on waxing my '13 1500. It is a work in progress. Do you know there are acres of sheet metal to prep and wax? Today I did the cab, fenders, and doors in the cool of the morning. Looks great al-
though I have more than a rotator cuff out of joint! The glaze and wax are awesome products from Adam's that really put the shine on my vehicles.
Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a Porter Cable 7424 with a pad kit. It is absolutely the best purchase you can make for your truck.

The 7424 is nice, but also make sure you're only putting a VERY thin coat of each product on. Many folks put it on way too thick, making extra work for themselves. Only a microscopic layer adheres to the clearcoat, so why put on a mm or 2 or product?
A cheap random orbital buffer to simply buff off product can save you a lot of elbow grease too.

Yes -- it is huge. I had intentions of doing 2 coats in one day, but I just couldn't. That's the only time I miss my old Focus and Neon -- when it comes time to hand wash & wax.

I wax my vehicles generally every 4 months, and always put two coats on. Once a year, usually Spring, I do the wax stripping, clay bar, polish and then wax treatment. I've done this on my Mustangs for years, and continue the process on my Ram as well. The shine is amazing, but more importantly, the protection is what I aim for. No sense doing all that work, and then not using enough wax to protect the work you just did. I'm not concerned about waisting a little wax.

I think you will find that for longer protection, you can use a good sealant. Sealants last about 6 months whereas most waxes only last 4-6 weeks. If you like you can top the sealant with a good quality wax for more "pop". I'm sure that all of the Adam's followers will chime in and tell you exactly what product to buy and how great their product line is---please keep in mind that this section is sponsored by Adam's. IMHO for a fair and balanced discussion of detail products you need to look at many sources before committing to any one particular product.
