Hi everyone,

At Fully Driven we are always looking for ways to make this site better for the entire community, and who better to guide that evolution than you—our members! If there’s a feature or forum section you’ve been wishing for, something that could work better, profile or access issues you are experiencing or even a small tweak that would improve your experience, we’d love to hear about it.

Whether it’s related to functionality, navigation, content organization, or anything else—no idea is too big or too small. Your feedback will help shape the future direction of the site and ensure it continues to reflect the needs of the people who use it most.

You can reply directly here or send your thoughts via Private Message if you prefer. We will be reviewing all suggestions and sharing updates as improvements are made.

Thanks for being part of this community and thanks in advance for your suggestions!

i would like to see less of an infringement on our first amendment rights here, the whole idea that we can no "mention politics" is pretty asinine if you ask me, we're all adults here arent we?

if we are afraid to be exposed to dissenting opinions we probably arent as mature as we should be, considering we all operate 6000 pound bullets

I get not wanting to clog up every thread with political debate... but maybe we could have a forum section that is dedicated to politics and then only be allowed to mention them there? Seems reasonable, anyhow. It's inevitable that conversations go that way at times.

Absolutely love the site, but I find it overly sensitive to every little curse word (and variation thereof), which I just don't find necessary. Honestly, how many children can be viewing this Forum??

Also, as others mentioned already, too sensitive on some political stuff. But on this issue, I understand, the levels of polarization have never been so rampant.

Politricks & Religion.... the two most "scary to talk about" topics on earth, and they shouldn't be whatsoever IMHO! Hey, if you want to walk around a stone and proclaim it your deity then have at it.

Hell, people have been making fun of catholics and newfies forever and we just laugh it off because it is actually funny ;)

As others have said above and others in previous discussions along our forums paths, too... let some of the "words" be used without being censored as well.

Well, I think now is probably the best time to *discuss* polarizing topics if the effort is to find common ground. That's difficult to do nowadays for sure, but we all share some common ground in that we love our trucks. I've found over the years that I've learned more from folks I originally disagreed with than I ever learned from folks that just agree with everything I think. As long as you can go into a conversation with an open mind, and be willing to be wrong, that's how we grow as a civilization.

But yes, very hard to do. Folks tend to find their hill to die on and that's it for them. It can certainly make having civil conversation difficult. It would require some level of moderation to ensure that discussions don't turn into personal attacks. To be honest... we shouldn't be attacking each other over differing beliefs because we are all getting equally hosed at the end of the day. :)

Current politics rules are fine. I agree with the easing of censored words, sometimes it's way too strict.
Agreed! There are plenty of other places to talk politics. The threads are going to go off the rails in short order. Say abortion was the topic. You’re either for it or against it. Nobody is going to change someone else’s opinion on it. The mods have enough things to monitor then add in political discussions and they would be spending all their time monitoring that.

I believe the word you are looking for is infanticide

This thread already shows why politics should remain banned. There are *plenty* of places to go **** into the wind on that front. It's nice to have a place of respite away from the hand full of people who have to hyper-politicize *everything* constantly. If we open it up to anything, I think a subforum specifically for automotive related political concerns would be ok. Land/trail closures, EPA/CAFE standards, etc. Even then, it'll be tough to moderate because the hyperpolitical will screw it up for everyone else.

The censorship here is overboard.

I'm pointed this out multiple times, but you censor words that aren't really naughty or offensive. If my buddy's name is Richard and we use the common nickname, that's not offensive. Words are censored but officially smilies include: :boobs: :devilfinger: :smokin:. I can't say the words ****, ***, ****, but there's these as options? Mixed messaging, there.

:3639243774_5f528137 violates your own rule #3. And g a y is a naughty word? Mixed messaging, again.

"NO references or linking to other forums or Facebook groups unless it is a forum operating under the FullyDriven.com network. Promotion of YouTube channels, affiliate links, fund raising and similar sites is not allowed." That's, frankly, pants on head silly. Not being able to link to certain other forums is automated but being able to link to facebook is apparently not and done quite a bit. Are you afraid members will abandon here to go there? Most enthusiasts will already join multiple forums. You aren't hiding "competitors" from people by not allowing links. Just making it more burdensome to share good information.

"

All in all, pretty minor complaints. I think the layout is pretty intuitive. You could probably combine some of the subforums, as there are a lot that have very few threads. I tend to just use "new posts" so I don't pay much attention to where something is, though.

Dodge Ram Dakota

Discuss the new 2024 Dakota here.

Should probably be edited or removed given, well, you know.

Only funny to some. Problem is that to others it isn't funny, so, boys being what they can be, for the off color "humor", a dedicated thread would be great for trash talk.

Something I have trouble with:

If I reply to a post, hit <Post Reply>, and then realize I wanted to quote a previous post in the thread, I cannot add that quote to my reply. It does not give the <Insert Quote> button.

The auto-censoring of words is plain crazy. Take *** for example. The word r u m. Seriously?

I'm ok with a separate sub-forum for off-topic stuff. I realize some members might not align completely with my political/societal/religious beliefs, and that is ok.

Maybe a trial basis, with a set of rules:

For example, cordial disagreement is ok, but ONLY the poster of a reply can report it, IF they feel a response to their post is not cordial or attacking, etc. Moderators could check and issue a warning, etc.

If the time dealing with this subsection becomes too out of hand, the section can be closed, and an explanation given for closure.

We are all adults (at least we are supposed to be), and we need more communication in this world. If we cannot talk about and explain our agreements and disagreements, and find common ground, nothing will ever change in the world.

Maybe try this out, and if it becomes too much, shut it down.

First, I agree with most, or maybe all, the word censorship too often will
make a post nearly indecipherable, and very often it is for the most ridiculous
reasons as @EdGs clearly demonstrated with just ONE example.

Second,we already have an "off-topic" sub-forum but it seems to roll along just fine
without any new tinkering. So if previously prohibited posts are going to become allowed, I vote to segregate it.

I would prefer a new sub-forum if it's going to be done at all, for more controversial topics like politics, ONLY because I can easily avoid it. Almost every other haunt of mine includes politics and I can always go there if I feel the urge.

When I get sick and tired of politics/controversy I know I can come here, read and participate in subjects that are of interest, and much friendliness, ribbing, and general jocularity.

You asked for feedback and suggestions from the members, now you only want the feedback you agree with. Everything else is off topic?

For the record, I disagree with allowing a section for politics. Those turn into a dumpster fire and are MAJOR work to moderate. I quit two mod jobs after they opened up the sites to politics. Moderating a forum is unpaid volunteer work, not supposed to be a 12 hours a day deal. There is Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and a dozen other places for that.

The swear filter is definitely wound too tight. It censors words even in common and innocuous usage.

My suggestion for a useful addition, is an online library for service manuals, owners manuals, TSBs etc so they could be housed in one area for easy access.

I do find it a bit confusing as to how to add photos to my own profile page. When I just went to the profile none of the links go to the photos I have added over the years. It would be helpful to have a link to my folder.

I don't remember when I joined what I saw about using the site beyond when I could post in the for sale section, but maybe first time posters could be given a mandate to read box that gives helpful tips on how to title a new thread (avoid "need help ' as the title) and instruct them on how to better enter their information (give more details on truck year and model, any codes showing, more details when issue appears). Really want to help people but when all we get is "I have a noise when I am driving", hard to really do anything and it gets tiring asking for more details. :)

Thanks to all who take time to serve us in the forum and to all who provide help and funny zingers!

LOL, now this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is a great idea. Just a few days ago, I was gonna add a pic or two to my profile page, but I couldn't figure it out. It appeared there was no way to add a photo anywhere. Not a huge deal either way.
