Have a 2018 2500 6.4 4.10's and a 2006 Crownline 250CR boat with aluminum trailer. Weighed it a couple of years ago on a local scale with single pad but didn't get exact weights so went to the CAT scale today. Truck had 3/4 tank of fuel and me in it. Boat had about 1/2 tank of fuel (has a 75 gallon tank).
We have a hill here called mile hill. Don't think it is quite a mile long but it is about a 7% grade with some curves. Truck in front of me was turning so I was almost stopped at the bottom. Speed limit was 45 and I had no problem maintaining 45. I was in tow/haul and stayed just under 3500 RPM the whole way. It did downshift once when I got to a bigger curve and it was raining so I slowed a little and it downshifted to get back to 45 MPH.
Truck was 7380lbs. Boat was 8860lbs. and had 660lbs tongue weight. Boats have less tongue weight than TT's cause the engine is in the back and most of the weight sits over the axles.
