weird noise?

I have a 13 express with the hemi, at moderate acceration between 2 and 3 gears it makes a vibrating sound right before it changes to third. Ive taken it in to the dealer and they said a heat shield, I asked him if he was gonna fix it and he said no, we could put another one on there and it would do the same thing. If it was a heat shield wouldnt it do it when in idle which it doesnt.

Is it kind of a high pitched sound? Mine does that also like when lightly cruising thru town. I read somewhere that there is a transmission line or some other type of line that makes that sound too. Under the hood near the radiator if I remember correctly. Try searching for that? Good luck. Turn the radio up!!! LOL

lol, no problem in the truck but its just before it changes and sounds to me to be coming out the tail pipe or that area

Mine vibrates a small amount when you give it gas in the MDS mode just before the MDS mode shuts off. Then it is smooth. Everyone Iv talked to said its normal and the guys who have a custom exhaust say the pitch changes when it goes in and out of MDS. Not sure if thats what your experiencing.

its more like im getting on it to make second last before it changes to third about half throttle, and right a 3500 rpms makes the sound then changes to third. i think ima have my wife gas it so i can ride on the back to put my ear closer.

it does it in every fffnnn gear at 3500 rpms, anyone know what could cause this, its a rattle metal on metal but sounds like its coming out the tail pipe

I have the same noise. Think I have tracked down what heat shield it is coming from but have not been able to figure out how to fix it yet. Haven't had any luck with dealers either...but maybe I'll try a different one.

Livewire...which exhaust and cab/bed combo do you have? I have the dual exhaust on a 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab long bed...just curious if it is only on certain combos since I haven't read much about this problem.

Took it to the dealer and they removed a rock from one of the heat shields. Unfortunately that didn't fix it. Did anyone else have this issue and figure out how to fix it?
