I love aggressive tires.
33" Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 2004 Race Ram
33" Goodyear Kevlar Tires on my 3/4 HD (New tires, but I'm going to replace with 35's soon)
33" BFG MK2 Mud tires on my restored Comanche
35 Baja Claws, new in cold stand by
33 General Grabbers, new in cold stand by
The Baja claws are allocated for my 70's Powerwagon restore
The General Grabbers will go on my race ram, when I start racing again.
The Grabbers will do great on sand, and ok on mud
The MK2 Mud tires will do awesome in the mud, and on my application should do good in sand (light jeep, big tires)
The Baja Claws, I originally bought for sand drags (DOT Tire class), but testing showed they digged down before moving forward. In my RAM, all 4 tires spinning at launch, and with the Claws, the truck would dig down, then pull forward. Testing showed near flat real wide "aggressive" street tires tended to pull the best. I think the General Grabbers ran VLP (Very Low Pressure ~12psi or lower) should do awesome. I'll have to run low pressure on street to soften the side walls. (~25 to 35 or visual sidewall bulge )
I just like the look of the Goodyear Kevlar Tires. Too hard for off-road use, and too heavy for race. Although lots of guys off-road with them. But, I think the sidewall is too stiff, and the rubber compound is hard. For a tow rig, or for long life they good tires. ( long life in aggressive tire life spans, not normal street tire life)
