I have a 2013 ram 1500 5.7 hemi 6 speed, it was the basic work truck black front end, black bumper etc very basic model ram perfect work truck. I want to know what gears my truck has and what are the best recommendations for an upgrade for a cam, I've been looking into moes performance hpt+ cam what would be the best set up to go with. Still daily the truck with the cam installed are my plans. Thank you

I've seen a lot of recommendations for 4:10 gears on a 6speed NA truck

Are you planning to drag race or just drive it as a work truck and a daily driver. You also should talk to Matt at Moe's and see what he recommends about your cam choice and what gears he thinks will work the best for your application.

With 33" tires and 0.67:1 top gear and 3.55 diff you should be at 1800 rpm at 75mph

Change to 4.10 gears and you are at 2100 rpm at 75mph

In any gear your torque to the ground will be 15% higher .

If your truck is 4wd the front may not be available past 3.92

Yes. If it's a 4wd, for the front you'd have to replace the carrier and your truck will be limited to 3.92 as mentioned above. Anything above that 4.10 or 4.56 will need a carrier from 2010 RAM and a new modified bracket. You would be hard pressed to find a shop willing to it for you. Or you can do it yourself it's time consuming and will cost you $$$.

I have 4.10s in my 2011 4X4. I always say that truck should have come from the factory with 4.10s. If it had, most guys would have liked the 5/645RFE a lot better.

4.10s are a good all around gear ratio for the 5/645RFE. But the Go Fast Guys are usually a little disappointed with 4.10s, because they're still a bit tall. 4.56 if you want to really get up and go.

:D if someone has the go fast bug there is no satisfaction.

I've got 3.55 gears and the 6 speed, it works fine for me. If i wanted more speed the cheapest and easiest path to that would be sell this truck and buy one that already has the 8 speed and 3.92 gears.

I thought 3.92's would be perfect till the 37's went on. Now I wouldn't go any lower than 4.56's

I would find a place that is willing to install the gears and get a quote first before getting too far along such as buying parts.

I plan on drag racing it and still be able to drive it on the weekends. I have big plans for it but that’s not any time soon but for now basically a race truck that can be street driving also.

If ya going to be drag racing the 6-speed Ram going to need 4.56
8-speed needs 3.21 for best 1/4 mile times

I would call and speak to Matt @ Moe's. He knows your situation, in and out.

Keep us posted. We're all in this together.
