Seems okay. The thing is really heavy so that's good. Lol Ive researched the brand and most people are happy with them, as long as you don't submerge them in water they will work from what I understand. As long as it works the couple times I need it I'll be happy with it. Plus I got it brand new in box for $160 off of craigslist so I can't complain too much.

That's what's making the noise, I'm not really sure how to check it vs the steering knuckle.

if the noise is constant even when sitting in park with engine running, then its the pump.

since it turns while moving - I would say not the rack & pinion.

I jacked up the front end and the wheels turn without noise or issue. With the wheels on the ground the pump makes an awful racket, and no turn unless the truck is moving.
