Yes, I got married and went on our honeymoon in a 1970 Plymouth GTX 440 Automatic, 4.11 dana. Green also. Was one bad car, especially liked the Air Grabber hood with the scoop lifting out of the hood with a flip of a switch. More intimidating than anything but I loved that car!

nice. when I first got married we bought a new '67 442 4 speed and it ran great. it developed a rear end whine but the olds dealer we bought it from was part of the Hurst olds racing program and they dropped a 3.90 positraction rear end free under warranty work and a cpl. thousand miles later the engine over heated and warped a head. they offered me new heads or mill those down. so I took the millwork and was a happy camper till '69 when I thought I needed a Mach one mustang...what a crap pile that was. after 6 months I took the hit and traded it for a '70 malibu ss 396 . had many good miles with that car and later traded it for a '73 el camino super sport.

I couldn't give you a list of all the vehicles I owned before the current RAM. I started making a list about 20 years ago and even then I couldn't remember them all. In my teens and 20s I went through cars like water. But, in general, it went like this:
  • VW Beetles
  • SAABs
  • (at the early stages of married life and kids) miscellaneous Toyotas, GMs and Fords. Maybe a Honda or two.
  • Then the Mercedes phase
  • Then, finally! A RAM.
  • Then a Porsche and
  • Another RAM.
Please note the (mostly) constant Upward trend...

Bought this DODGE D250 new in 1992, put 336,000 miles on it over the next 28 years. I sold it August 2020 to a sweet newlywed couple who drove away very happy.

I love your story! I’m driving a 1997 1500 5.9L
330K now. Still runs great, but just had the tranny rebuilt. I bought it in 1998 with 34K on it...

Ha ha. That's the only pic I could come across of the 2014 2500 on my phone.
Yes the 2016 F150 pulled it too.
The 2019 Ram was happier with a smaller one.

Fact is, any of the Big Three (or even Small Five - adding in the Toy Box and Dat Soon?) will perform well enough for 99% of the average consumers' needs.

But, who doesn't love dissing the competition?

Was it as nice as Ricardo Montalban made it seem in the commercials?

Hell yeah! I actually wish I still had it. White exterior, red leather interior and I could barely afford to fill that gas beast. A lot of memories.

Haha that's awesome, thanks for sharing! I don't think I ever talked to anyone who owned one before (I was born in 86) and have never really seen any around.

Cheers, brother. Vehicles and music bring about the strongest memories.

In the past I had normally driven a pickup. A couple of years ago I got thr itch for a Jeep Wrangler. I bought a 2019 Jeep Unlimited and really enjoyed the vehicle for a couple of years. Anyhow, yesterday I traded my Wrangler in on a 2021 Ram. Life is good!
