I'm on my second. But in 2013 I went to look at a used Z71 at a dealership after I got off work. The salesman came out with two keys one for the Z71 and one for the Ram 4 x 4. I test drove the Ram and never even bothered with the Z71. I bought the very one I drove that night.

I'm jealous if they came off 22000 from the MSRP. They only came down 11 from my MSRP of the same.

Best looking in it’s class, Hemi > same old 5.3 GM has been using since forever. Price... knew what I wanted to spend and the kind of miles and features I wanted.. browsed ford and GM and nope couldn’t get anything close to what Ram offered me.

I’m a happy camper.

I have always been a die hard GM guy, my entire garage is full of vintage Mr.Goodwrench items. When they came out with the 4th gen Ram I loved the look and wanted one. I bought one in October of 2011 when the 2012's were out and they practically gave me this truck. It was just a RegCab 2wd express, it was silver with silver 20's. It had zero options, no carpet, manual windows and locks, but it had the Hemi, 3.92 gears with LSD and hauled ***. I never had a bit of trouble with that truck, never had to go to the dealer for not one single problem. This truck was the first Mopar product I had ever owned, it was so good I bought my wife a 2014 Hemi Charger Anniversay edition. I still had a few chevy trucks so I traded the 2011 RCSB in on a 2014 Challenger Shaker mopar '14 edition (only made 100). That car was so fast with my heavy foot and 6sp manual that my wife was afraid I was gonna kill myself, I drove that like it was stolen even just down to grab some food. I sold that car and bought my current Ram 4x4 which I wouldn't trade for anything right now

Best looks, most comfortable in the class/price range, lowest price ($19k off MSRP), enough towing capacity for my needs, best stereo at the price, enough legroom (reason I got out of the Avalanche, GMT-800 have terrible 2nd row legroom)...

Common sense isn't...nor is common decency.

I bought mine because I was tired of the price of Chevy and the same old ****. They kept doing the same thing just making small tweaks. Engines were underpowered and they were so proud of their **** they wanted to charge you way to much than I thought it was worth.

I chose ram because I love how it looks and especially how it drives, the Hemi has a great sound and I have more then enough power. I’ve almost got my Pops converted.

I bought my Ram because we were getting ready to have our 2nd child and needed a bigger vehicle. My wife's 2016 Forrester has 88k on it so we would've lost our ass on trade in. My regional cab Silverado was on the chopping block. There wasn't anything wrong with the truck. I bought it new in 2008 and traded it in with 140k. It needed about $1k worth of maintenance stuff and it would've been perfect.

Anyway my wife said I deserved a nice truck and we needed a vehicle that the family could fit in. So I picked Ram. It's cheaper, has more options for the the money and just plain looks better.

I got it largly cause of the price. I have had more GM vehicles than anything else, but wasn't locked to any brand. After working as an auto tech I saw they all had their problems. When I saw the local dealer had $10,000 off sticker on the left over 2017 Tradesmans I couldn't pass it up. I'm happy with a stripped out truck plus it more fun to add the stuff I do want myself than just buying it that way.

Heck look at the Chevy that pretty much rules it out, plus to get any power you have to step clear up on models to get the 6.2 which is just barely quicker than the Hemi.
Ford needs a bigger V8 in the trucks ,they can keep the EgoBoost crap.

Bought the Ram for looks the price, the 5.7 Hemi and the 8sp.
Dam sharp looking trucks. :)

It was cheaper than the equivalent F-150, but the Ram has a Hemi. If the f-150 similar equipped ecoboost 3.5 was the same price I would have likely gone that route. Im a value person and the Ram had the value

I don't like the looks of the Chevy/GM. The Fords look great (IMO) but I wasn't sold on the reliability of the Ecoboost motors. The Nissan's are ugly and the Toyota's are outdated and overpriced.

However, at the end of the day, it really boiled down to price and value. With the rebates and discounts offered by FCA and Ram dealers, it was a no-brainer. My money went so much further with Ram. Honestly, I didn't even test drive any of the other brands. This is my first full sized truck. I've owned Tacomas and Frontiers in the past. Regardless of the price, I'm super happy with the Ram. I love the Hemi, 8-speed and 3.92 gears. What a great drivetrain! Plus, the Big Horn package looks great and has all the creature comforts I need. The 4th gen is proven and I imagine any bugs have pretty much been worked out by the 2018 model year.

And, to the best of my knowledge, you can't get a manufacturer backed lifetime warranty from any of Ram's competitors.
