That is for the under hood light. You can add it and it is just plug and play.

I know I was surprised that neither the 17 or this 21 had under hood light although build sheet showed it. FCA probably saved a nickel......

My 2018 had it listed as well, but it wasn't installed. I ordered the parts and installed it myself.

my 2001 3500 had it, which was why I was surprised the new trucks didn’t. Maybe they’re trying to tell us not to touch our trucks under there!

Some owners have said that they either don't have the plug or can't locate it

I did not notice which years those owners were referring to

My 2016 1500 Big Horn did not have a hood light. So I buy the kit and installed in about 10 minutes of less. Nice compliment to the engine bay.

If your build sheet has it listed shouldn't the dealer be required to install it, or at least give you one?

RAM does this corner cutting on so many things. Everything in place to make the truck a nicer ride ( wiring etc. ), and they just don't finish the job. Cabin air filter, foot well lights, glove box light, engine bay light. For less than $20 RAM could have these all working when the truck is delivered. I don't get it. Understand my truck might have a car alarm already installed, but it needs activation ( which the dealership will likely hard bone me to do ). If it's already installed, why is it not just activated?

What about this found in the glove box of new Longhorn?
That is the plate cover/adapter parts for the wiring harness when you remove your tailgate.IMG_2202.JPGIMG_2203.JPGtg1.JPGtg2.JPGtg3.JPG
