What happens when the key fob dies?

I have a 2017 1500 sport with the push button start. I've read the manual, but I either overlooked it or just can't find it, but does anybody know how to start the truck when the key fob dies?

I know there is a key in the fob that I can use to open the door, but I don't see a place to use the key to start the truck.

You catch a cab and get a new battery. I think the truck warns you when the battery is getting low, but not certain. Anybody know for sure?

I can tell you that when the fob dies and you use the real key to unlock the door the alarm will go off ....fun huh?

I was told by a salesman so not sure if true, but supposedly if you hold the fob right by the push start button it should start.

Best thing to do is replace the battery as soon as it says it’s low

They told us to push the fob right up to the button. Push the button with the fob even. Never tried it though

I can confirm that the alarm will go off using the key to to unlock. I do it allllllll the time.......

This is on a 2014.

Take the battery out and try it.
This will come handy when the battery really dies and that will be either under pouring rain or in a blizzard ...

BTW: Also simulating changing a tire and mounting snow chains are good to train before you need it!

My fob died. Used key to open door. Alarm didn't go off. Used key fob to push start button and truck started. Drove to store to buy battery for key fob. Good as new.
