What is this thing??

I removed the back seat and was trying to figure out how to mount my amp to the back wall and part of the back wall linear stood out further than the rest on both sides. I was just going to cut it out but when I pulled it forward I saw this vent looking thing behind it. See pictures (if I can get this to work) and please advise what this is and can I remove the linear in front of it??

That's a cab vent and you can lose the cover over it but your internal cab noise may increase. Don't block that with a amp mounting board or anything.

I may be in trouble then because my amp is pretty long - about 20 inches, I will have to look in the morning on centering it more to avoid this whole issue.

Yup those are cab vents, without them your ac/ heat wouldn't work properly
