Folks that are having problems will post them up on forums. Those that aren't having problems don't post up about problems.

That makes it seem as though the majority of Ram trucks have problems and that just isn't the case.

There are also many posts where people ask about a particular vehicle they are interested in. While there are items to watch, many people talk about how well their truck performed. The lounge section and other threads are filled with good stories. And it is true, many posts are about problems, but that is why we post, to get help. I would think that with the hundreds of thousands of trucks sold, the proportionally small number of posts would seem to indicate that the trucks are pretty dependable.

Also there's the reverse psychology of it that some of us have learned over the years.
Praise it and give it thumbs up all the time and then it shows you its appreciation by figuratively and literally giving you the middle finger and breaking down when its needed the most.
I usually tell people I've had good luck with it so far and it's just like anything else that mechanical, they all have issues in some way or another

Well, other than a warranty replaced shift solenoid and broken header bolts on passenger side, I love my truck. Is a 13 Outdoorsman, 6 speed quad cab. Engine is powerful, smooth, is quiet, runs I think better than new still. I drive it to work 95% of the time because it runs so good, even the old 6 speed I like, only issue with the 6 speed is on hill near my house, is steep, levels off the hill etc it sometimes searches for gear, so can lag a little, other than that, engine, transmission has been excellent. All I have done to engine is canned bulldog 91 octane tune, clean my throttle body twice a year, catch can and use pens ultra plat full synth oil, a boss 15k filter and a little lubeguard biotech every oil change. I run berrymans total fuel system high mileage cleaner, can through tank twice a year and can notice difference. I also run every 2 months some lucas fuel additive. I have a volant cai, I just need to install it. Would buy this truck again, no second thought. I also have a 500+ hp ls3 Camaro and prefer to drive the Ram, sit higher, quieter, don't have to dodge every bad spot in road.

Hello All, I bought my "16" 2500 CCLB just over 2 yrs ago and have had no issues what so ever, even after doing some suddle mods and playing around with ALPHA OBD. It has just over 42 K on everything but the engine.
Canada dealer put in new long block in just before I bought it. It now has about 15 K.

The only thing that's failed on my 2005 is a water pump at about 110k, and a brake light bulb. I'm installing a second set of pads and rotors tomorrow (145k). The driver's side seat back cushion needs replaced, but I cannot find anyone who carries it. It's currently being held together by Gorilla tape.

I was just thinking about gorilla tape. If they made two-sided gorilla tape I believe I could actually put it on the back of my seat and wouldn't even have to use the seatbelts. Now that would be what you call gription.lol I've had a couple seats with plain old duct tape and even electrical tape makes for a sticky situation. sometimes
