If any one in Texas prefers chrome and happens to have white bumpers and/or mirrors I’m game to trade. I do not like chrome one bit but wanted the Laramie features. Just throwing it out there

I am partial to the body colored but having a Laramie I have the chrome, as others have said its grown on me. I think the pearl color accents the chrome well, I dont think Id ever go body colored for the pearl white.

I've had both and though I really liked the all Flame Red Ram Sport, including the bumpers, that I had. It looked just like Barney556180's truck above, without the camper shell. To break up so much of the red I installed polished Stainless Steel cab length running boards/nerf bars...whatever you want to call them. It really dressed the truck up.....or so I was told!!
I am really liking the new Ram. Like BTD07 says Pearl White and chrome are made for each other!!

I wish I could take my side steps off, but my wife needs them. I know that I can order the oem powered ones, but I’m waiting to see what AMP offers us first.
I'd prefer the power ones as well. Too bad in the spring and fall I deal with daytime mud and night time freezing. That combo tends to temporarily cement them into whatever position they were in when it freezes. Usually up. Luckily other guys have learned this the hard expensive way so I didn't have to. If not for that I'd have them. They come down lower than the regular ones and raise up for ground clearance so to me they're better if not for that.

On the 4th Gen, I've had both. At first, I wasn't as fond of the SLT chrome bumpers and grill, but they grew on me. Now I have an SLT with sport kit. Don't like the chrome grill in the midst of all that yellow.

On the 5th gens - the chrome just doesn't look good to me. The blacked out ones look better, but the 4th gen is still prettier IMHO.

Very personal preference. I have to vote painted, I have always hated chrome. I was so happy when Dodge came out with the "Sport" that dechromed the truck !

I've had three , Patriot blue pearlcoat, Amber fire pearlcoat both sports, looked good. I now have Granite crystal with chrome.
Mono color sports looked great, but didn't age well, scracthed too easy, chips etc.
Chrome is tougher, lasts longer doesn't crack.
Hell if I wear this one out, I'll get a combo bumper: Cattle /Prius/Smart car pusher with brush guard. Might just paint that to match.

I like painted. I like chrome. Honestly I like a healthy mix between the two. That being said if I had to choose one I would want chrome. At least for my 2014. The painted plastic bumpers are holding up for now but I don't know for how much longer. In 2016 they went to metal painted bumpers and I'm jealous.

I like the chrome, I've had both, but the love bugs down here just destroy painted bumpers and grills! The chrome is not affected by them and doesn't get rock chips.

I just dipped the rest of my grill... no more chrome anywhere on the truck.

Is your truck maximum steel metallic? I would like to either paint or wrap or even dip my chrome front and rear bumpers, but I want to make sure that the color matches, yours look pretty close.

Yep maximum steel. I was going to paint to match but honestly this is good enough plus I can refresh it when I get stone chips which I have on a handful of occasions. Plus it took about 5 cans to do the handles, mirror caps, grill and both bumpers. Much cheaper over new non chrome parts + paint and its close enough. I think they actually make some colors close to the truck in the dip that you probably could get away with using.

I'd prefer the painted over chrome except I live in FL (love bug capital) and bugs are far easier cleaned off the chrome. I've had both and chrome is the way to go if you have lot's of bugs / road grime you don't want to spend a lot of time dealing with it.

412B7628-433C-454B-8DD2-8514DB357B3D.jpeg Chrome all the way. It just Looks sharp. For some reason the painted bumpers just take away from the class and look cheap.
