That's a gubm'nt food stamp purchased part for a gubm'nt motors produced vehicle. The following pic is of a Chevy truck in my shop. If you can tell another shop in my area used a cereal box for a gasket.

End of the day, maybe Saturday when closed Sunday, customer coming to retrieve their vehicle, part guy screwed up and didn't order, or couldn't get the gasket, overtime not authorized, or tech has someplace to be: "I know we'll just stuff something in there and button'er up. The owner will never notice....."I don't know what they were thinking. That gasket isn't very much money at all and readily available. Just kind if wondering what else they took short cuts on. That's supposed to be a rebuilt transfer case and it clunks real hard when engaging the 4x4.
