Looking to get a toolbox to put in the bed of my 17 Ram. I have never purchased one before and would like to see all the options available.

If you have one installed in your 4th Gen Ram please post some pics of it here with the brand info and such for all to see.

Also please explain what you like the most about it and the least. I am sure many owners would like to know.

Got this DeeZee side box, going to put a swing box on the other side at some point.

Are you looking for one "inside" the bed or one that sits on top of the bed rails?

BetterBuilt low profile deep box. Made in Florida.
Like....lo profile, deep to hold my tools, shines up GREAT with 303, made out of aluminum so easy to move
Dislike...cost, (it aint cheap)after 1.5 yrs plastic sliding tray has cracked, my fault for overloading with heavy screws, bolts etc

UWS. I rattle can lined it. Pretty strong box had a tsc one and tossed it. Too flimsy for me.

Agree on the tsc, very flimsy, just sold mine looking for a good inside the bed box now, couldn't reach anything in there anyway

Think I want something in the bed below the bed rails in black.

The best box out there imo is weathergaurd. They’re expensive but very nice, strong and seal very well. They have almost any box you could want.

I have a cheaper light weight low profile Better Built. Pretty much identical to the TSC one above.
Honestly I think most of these are built by a small handful of manufactures and just re-branded because if you look at them many of the models are identical between the brands.
Mine was a budget box but has worked well for over 2 years from Colorado to Georgia. My only complaint is after a while the handle latch mechanisms have become a little more hard to operate (opening but handle from one side).

Like anything you get what you pay for. If you need something heavy duty spend a little more money.

I agree with your logic. I’ve looked at the tsc ones and betterbuilt. They look exactly and feel exactly the same.

Only have the one pic with it in the truck, but I have an old Delta plastic over the rail box.
I’ve had this box in multiple trucks over the past 20+ years. It’s a little beat up, but still functions well.

Likes: plenty of room, seals well, can be opened from either side, and the box itself is light weight.

Dislikes: can’t reach the middle without climbing in the bed, and can only be locked/unlocked from the drivers side.

I agree. I've had a number of boxes over the years and weatherguard is the best of all of them.
