So I had the chance to give my new truck a good hand wash. While I was doing this I noticed a few things wrong with my truck. First problem I have is with the light in the driver side mirror. The light has water in it and after a rain storm I noticed water run out of it. Should be an easy fix and not a big deal. But the reason for this post is I would like some feed back from you guys about the mud flaps I had the dealer put on should I make him give me new parts or is this just me being too picky about the truck. Am I the only one who thinks that a dealership would do better work that this or is it something I should just let go?? I would have them Repair both. At least the Mirror light anyway. You could most likely do a better job on the Mud Flaps.

The dealership should be embarrassed to let that be seen publicly. My eyes would be drawn to those holes every time I walked past the truck. No way I would let that slide.

The mud flaps were like 274.00 not sure if they charged me for putting them on or not but the more I think about it for that kind of money for mud flaps you would think they would be good I also noticed the back ones are not the same one is about a 1/4 to 1/2” different from the other one. I think I will get him to order new trim pieces and like others have said do my own install.

Whoever installed those mud flaps needs to stop installing stuff. Those mud flaps are so easy to put on its ridiculous. How in the world did the guy screw that up. Drilled holes where their isnt supposed to be and not even lined up properly. Yeah I would ask to have all the plastic pieces replaced too.

I would tell them to remove the flaps, refund my money, and then buy a nice pair from weathertech for under $100.00 Also the size and style of those are probably costing you fuel money.

Get your money back, make them give you the trim pieces the drilled into so someone else can replace them. Find an independent shop to fix this damage. Find a new dealer for any other warranty work

Id just have the dealer take care of it, and ask him to put his best tech on it and also ask him to oversee it....he'll see it and make it right...should be simple **** to take care of imo

maybe that was their best tech......but it agree should be simple. I would rather just have the parts handed to me and do it myself

It's amazing and sad that this "install" was done, not quality checked, and then just simply returned to the customer without a word about the error. Then leave it to the customer that maybe he won't notice?

That's not acceptable. I would ask for a refund and go out and buy Husky or Weathertech mud flaps. They are super easy to install.

I would show them to the service manager! Ask him if he would be happy with this kind of work on his truck, demand a full refund, take my money and run, not walk away from this dealership as fast as I could. I would allow myself to cool off a day or two, then sit down and along with the photos, kindly but firmly write letters to the dealership manager, service manager, and dealership owner, along with copies to DRCJ expressing your total distrust in the dealership. Until this kind of thing is called out things will never change!

I've been using the WeatherTech mud guards on my trucks ... no drilling involved and it didn't take long to put on myself ... They fit perfectly ...

The mudflaps that are installed use a combination of existing screws and plastic rivets. there are a few places that need to be drilled for plastic rivets. All of the places that need to be drilled only go into plastic parts. The areas that you have the holes showing are where the "technician" drilled though the first part and continued drilling through the second layer.

If I had somebody do that job, I would be pissed. There isn't anything wrong with the mudflaps, but the plastic pieces that were drilled through should be replaced and the mudflaps installed correctly.
