Completely clueless on the tire offset subject. Getting ready to buy a truck looking at a '14 half ton w/ the hemi, and I'm trying to get my set up ready for when I purchase planning on a 4in zone lift, bolt on fender flares and some 35s and rock star wheels maybe moto metal something along those lines.

Back to the original question I want my tires to stick out just a tad for a more aggressive look probably just even with the fender flares. I don't want to do wheel spacers and I know there's something to do with the wheel offsets that can probably accomplish that for me but i have no idea what im looking for or what to get.

Negative offset. The more negative offset the further the wheel will stick out. -12 is a popular offset. I currently run -19 offset which would be slightly more aggressive. Super aggressive would be like a -44 which I'm guessing wouldn't work with 35's and only a 4 inch lift. There is a ton of info around the forums on offsets. I would search some threads for pics or even google and that will give you a pretty good idea of what offset you would like. here is a thread with some pics of mine with -19 offset wheels and 33x12.5 tires.

Good luck modding.

I have Zero offset on 34" Toyo. I'll post pics when I install them. Also when using -12 with wide tires you will probably rub. Also depends on width of the rim. -12 on 8" rim will look and clear different then -12 on 10" rim. Use this website http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

Wheel offset is directly related to the width of the wheel. A 0 offset has the mounting surface of the wheel right in the center of the rim. A negative offset moves the mounting surface towards the back of the wheel which in turn pushes it out from under the truck. A positive offset moves the mounting surface towards the front of the wheel pulling the wheel under the truck further.

Exactly how wide of a stance are you looking for? 1" past the flares? 2"? I can tell you exactly what setup you want to run if you tell me what you're looking for. With a 4" lift you won't have any issues clearing 35's with a wide stance

I went through this same thing on my 1500, when it comes down to rim offset it really depends on the look you want. I have no flares (yet) and went to a 0 offset on my truck. This gave my truck the exact look you are describing.

Like brandonjansen mentioned, if you tell him what you're looking to do, he can tell you exactly what you need. He helped me out a ton when I was trying to figure out what to run. I only did a 2" level, but I have 0 offset, 17x8.5 Method wheels with 315/70/17 Duratracs. My tires are out past the fenders about 1.5".

Well I've decided I don't have the money for lift right now so probably just going to level with bilsteins, im hoping i can still run 35s something like nittos or wrangler authoritys, and rockstar or moto metal wheels. I want to put the bolt on look fender flares and I'd like the tires to be about even or up to 1 inch past the flares.

If you want to be flush or poke past pocket flares with 35's on only a leveling kit you will need to trim some plastic and probably the pinch weld if you want to be past the flares.

And 35's on a 1/2T and a level probably won't work.
