TIA!!

I'd put my money on a short Magnaflow...shorter=louder...only way I'd go with a Rustmaster, I mean Flowmaster is if it was stainless.

You want deep and throaty go with true duals with X pipe , short magnaflows and e-cutouts

Or just hacksaw everything off at your existing Y pipe

Jba shorty headers. stock y pipe. After market res to kill the dorn. Gibson side exit exhaust. Put it on several of my costumer trucks and they love it, power, mpgs and sound. Runs about 1000 for the parts. And you can put it on yourself.

Magnaflow 14 or 18" welded on then call it a day. Fairly inexpensive mod to do. I paid like $150 installed for mine.

I just put a flowmaster hp2 on my 98 with the 5.2. Not quite the same motor as the 4.7 you have but I love that I have it dumped right at the muffler. Nice deep at idle and loud when you get on the gas.

Love these threads. They help me think without much thought (?). Any way, after taking a good look at my stock setup I see a HUGE muffler that is clamped to the tube followed by useless pipe that exits on the passenger side. I figure I can bash the rusted clamps and remove the muffler. Then grab a Magnaflow shorty, a dump pipe, and enough straight pipe to reach the rear axle and dump it. Using clamps the whole way. Is it really that easy? What about supports along the way?

Heck yeah it's that easy! That's what I did minus even running any extra pipe I dumped it at about my bed but I have a single cab so it sits perfect with no cab drone!! You could hang it with a simple metal strapping kit from autozone or something and bolt it to the frame or even spend a little bit of cash and have an exhaust shop weld on hangers to use the stock ones.
