I'm trying to get rid of my stock hood and get something a little more aggressive looking. Cant decide which to go with and i need some opinions.

Im either looking at the RK sport hood
Dodge RAM Air Hood Striker 1500 Fits 2009 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 RK Sport 21013010 | eBay

or just a sport style hood.
Dodge RAM 1500 09 16 Duraflex MP R Hood | eBay

Those are the only two hoods i really like. If i go with the sport style i would prefer a used stock one, but they seem to be hard to come by. I'm sure the fiberglass will be fun to get to fit correctly.

which would look better with my truck

If not worried about cost I like the first one. Ram air is operational where as the sport it is not. IMO

I wouldn't even be using the ram air to its potential though, I'll have a snorkel on her too so no need for that. This is all just for looks

I like the looks of the sport hood, but if I couldn't get an OEM hood, I'd live with the stock hood.

so far we're 3 to 3! Doesn't make my decision any easier!

Side question, Ive never had a fiberglass hood before, they say that the fiberglass hoods need pins, do they really? Are they really going to need a ton a prep?

You might do a little more research on the fiberglass hoods. I think I remember that some people have mentioned that the fitment isn't the best, they tend to have stress cracks and they aren't very strong where the hood shocks bolt on. I have not had any personal experience with them however.

I agree. I would get a Mopar R/T hood before buying any fiberglass hood. If you are set on fiberglass, then RK Sport gets my vote.

I'm not necessarily set on a fiberglass hood. I just cant find a sport hood for the life of me. I've seen a few for 700+ + shipping on car part, but they aren't even silver so that's way more then i want to spend.

I think for a new one, by the time you buy it, ship it, prep it and paint it, you'll be into it for $1250 +.

yeah, id feel better about that rather then spending 7-800 on a used one+ shipping, repaint and end up costing the same

In addition to the previous comments, I've heard a fiberglass hood will warp as well.

My vote: Sport style.

oh joy. guess i need to find a reasonably priced sport hood. Would really love to find a silver painted one since the top is going to be linexd anyway. would rather not have to repaint it so the bottom isn't a different color
