So I want the sound to be just right for me and I've only heard 1 mufflex system in real day time and it was an 18". I'm not a fan of very loud considering I do a lot of driving to and from work. 24" is out of the question. I like the sound of the 14 and 18 but since I'm a lot of highway driving, guys with the 14" is it pretty loud once broken in or still reasonable?

They do change VERY little with use. I have over 50,000 on the two on my G8 and they're still quiet.

Keep in mind, what I find loud, you may find quiet so it's subjective.

I put the 24 on because I wanted something that said "I'm a V8" without annoying the neighbors, me, or my kids when driving. I couldn't be happier.

14 is good. I wanted louder after my first initial impression, but Im used to it now and think its about right.

To add to my post... The larger the muffler, the less you hear the MDS.

I prefer the 18" myself. I don't like obnoxious loud, but at the same time, you know that it isn't stock. Combine the comfortable sound level with the free flowing design, and it is a win win.

14 is not an issues at cruising speeds on the highway. Its not that much louder than the 18, but has a slightly different tone

So would that mean that the 14" would be the best for cruising with the MDS on? I drive mostly highway and when I set the cruise I can definitely tell when it kicks on and off, it is not as noticeable as driving around town with it on but still, I don't want to be driving to work every night hating the way my truck sounds.

I just put the 14" on my '13 yesterday and aggressive isn't the word I'd use to describe it. Nice sound but not aggressive, my 02 with a 4.7 and 3" magnaflow cat back sounded way nastier than this.

i agree, but it is still a nice agressive tone. i think i may try the resonator delete to try and get a few more decibles outta this setup.:headbang:

I got the 24 and when then MDS kicks in on the hiway or in town it sounds like hell. I turn it off always because the mileage is 1 mpg difference. I do however like the sound, not too loud just nice and subtle.

Just buy the magnaflow and weld it in. The mufflex is a clamp on magnaflow.

While this is true it is quick, easy and painless. No rigging pipes, no making hangers or any bs. I put the truck on the lift and it took a friend and I 15 minutes and it was back on the ground done.

I went with the 14" and its not loud at all. The AC on high is louder. I agree just buy the muffler for a 100 and have a shop weld it on for a 100. Its cheaper, easier and welded not clamped. I listened to clips on youtube like 100 times before I got mine. Almost wish a had gone with muffler delete and just had the shop weld in a straight pipe.
