I have a 2009 Ram 1500 Sport. Just wondering if rims from a 2017 Sport would fit with no issues.

Thanks for the reply.

I know they have the same bolt pattern. However the threads changed from SAE to Metric. Wanted to make sure no size difference or any backspacing changes. Having a hard time finding any info.

wheels will fit, you may need older lugs, they did change somewhere in there. But wheels will fit for sure.

Make sure the lug nuts nuts you use have the correct taper for the rim.

If not, they WILL loosen up and possibly cause an accident.

I would be re-using the original SAE lugnuts. Found a good deal on some new "take off" rim and tires. Old rims are pretty beat up and the ones for sale are same price as a new tires.

Anyone know if the lugnuts would be an issue.

All I know, is when I put the lift & tires on the truck in my avatar, I used the stock lugnuts.

About 15 miles up the road, as I was going over a high rise 2 lane bridge, the truck felt squirrelly. I didn't think much of it as that bridge is a drawbridge.

I did pull over since the lift was so new, and checked things out when I got to the other side.

Almost every lugnut on all 4 tires were within a few threads of coming off.

I tightened the crap out them, like till they squeaked at me.

Checked the next day, and the taper was different for the rims I had. Got he correct taper lugnuts, and no more issues with them loosening up.

Had 1 of the tires come off on that bridge, I'd have likely went swimming after a 100+ ft drop.

That's why I always tell people make sure you have the correct lug nuts for the rim, and that you torque them correctly.

Hello all, i asked this question a few days ago and never got a clear response.

Wondering in 2017 rims would fit on my 2009 with no issues?

They have the same bolt pattern, however dodge changed from SAE to Metric in 2014. Need to know if bolts are same diameter and if angle on lug nuts is the same?

Ive done a few searches and cant find much info.

I’m pretty sure they are all interchangeable from 2002+, maybe even 1994+. I’d stick with the same size rim. So if you’ve got 20s stick with 20”s. Don’t go from 17s to 20s. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will chime in soon lol

And for sure gonna have a TPMS issue still nice the sensors have been changed.

Not from 1994-98 I think...at least on the 2x4. The hub diameter is too big. I'm told that the 4x4 works though. I think 98 on up will work.

its all the same bolt pattern, going from 4th gen to 4th gen is no biggie, just make sure you use whatever lug nuts work with your truck, hell i had 2014 wheels on my 03 for a while
