Mine does that and I have read reports from others experiencing this as well. One theory is that when very hot it somehow affects the switch mounted in the near windshield upper console. I cannot prove or refute this theory but will say that Mine seems t act up when these conditions exist. I try to keep the sliding area as clean as possible and have tried silicone spray which seemed to help some but it is not a definitive solution Or, it might have just been coincidental that the window decided to behave around the time I used the silicone spray. If I had the option to not have the slider in my Laramie I would have taken it simply because I have no practical use for it and it just seems like a place for leaks to happen. Therefore I rarely open it. I would never open it on a hot day in fear that I will not be able to close it. After two times having fits trying to get it closed ( hot conditions ) I avoid opening it.
Sorry I cannot tell you more but at least you know it is not something particular to your truck. Maybe someone will chime in with a solution for both of us.
Good luck.
