Will a 5.9l magnum bolt up to a nd3500 transmission?

iM THINKING ABOUT SWAPPING MY 4.7L TO A 5.9L MAGNUM IM WONDERING IF MY FLYWHEEL AND BELL HOUSING WILL BOLT UP OR DO I NEED TO UPGRADE IN ANY WAY? HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THIS?? ANYBODY HAVE ANY ADVISE ON WHAT I NEED TO DO??

I believe the bell housing is different between the 4.7 and 5.9.

Rumor has it that the 3500 can take the extra torque from the 5.9, but others say no.

my friend has a 5.9 sitting in his garage that hes wiling to give me so i wanna see if i can even use it. He thought it should work the only thing he thought of was the flywheel

Definitely Flywheel and torque convertor. If the transmission can be reused. Check with the local dealership to see if the motor tranny combo that you are looking to do was offered.

Wanted to add this: something I learned from another forum but not sure if it is true, someone said that the small blocks all used the same bellhousing.
