Will the tow mirrors work?

Afternoon forums, i have the stock SLT ram mirrors.They are power, heated, and has the thermometer in it. I would like to swap them out with some tow mirrors because of my toy hauler. If i were to buy some mirrors with that, aswell as the puddle light and blinker, will they work as a plug and play? Or will that have to be modified to work?

If i have to modify it, if its annoying i wont do it so just want to know if the mirror will be plug and play, or just get the same mirror just towing?

99% sure they're bolt on, since they were a factory option. I think you need to have the dealer change (reflash? not 100% sure) your computer so it knows that you have different mirrors.

What year SLT do you have? I've got the 2013 Laramie with tow mirrors but I want the regular oem power fold mirrors with all the bells. A local dealer here told me he didn't think the swap could be done but I'm not sure about that yet. It would be cool if it were a simple plug and play swap.

i have a 2013 ram 1500 SLT, with the stock mirrors Power heated thermostat. on my 2004, it was plug and play, but then again it was just the power and heater

When I went to do this on my Lone Star, I was told I would need to flash an update for the truck. Just an FYI

No need for a flash for the mirrors. However you will need tow mirrors from a '13+ because of the temp sensor being in them. Turn signals aren't plug and play (at least they weren't on 09-12's) but you can wire them in yourself.

Flash sales codes LEB and LEC to turn on turn signals and puddle lights. I recommend getting the reinforcing brackets so that they won't vibrate badly at highway speeds.

They are plug in play but I believe in order for the puddles and signals to work it needs yo be flashed

That will vary from one dealership to another. My local one charges an hours labor for a flash while the dealer one town over charges 1/2 hour.
So it's $100 or $45 for me.

There is no thermometer in the driver's side mirror so no they won't work. The ones from 1Aauto are less expensive than those and do have the correct thermometer in them.

I did this swap, there are 3 codes that need to be flashed by a dealer to make them function 100%. If you do a search for working tow mirror upgrade, there is a long thread with the correct codes.

One is for turn signals, one is for puddle lights, and the third is the generic tow mirror code, which will allow the power operation to work properly when they are up.

They MUST be 13+ mirrors with the temp sensor, or you will throw a CEL and the truck will run crappy.
