Hope I am putting this in the right category on the forums.

I purchased a used 2012 2500 a couple months back. Last week I noticed that the windshield washer fluid light was coming on. It was super cold here in NC and I just figured the fluid was low and was frozen. Friday I added about 1/2 a gallon of -20 to the washer fluid. The light has not came back on.

It's pretty cold here today (20f) and snowey. I went to turn my windshield washer on and I got nothing. I cannot even hear the pump run.

Any help on this guys? Is it too cold?

Park your truck in an underground parking lot and go shopping for a few hours, the heat off the engine and that of the parking garage will melt it all and allow it to flow, empty your washer liquid then re-fill with -45 degree windshield washer fluid. It falls in my area to -40 here and its been in the -20's not for over 2 months, never had issues with my washer fluid. Also, keep in mind, if you filled your tank last spring with winter washer fluid and had it in your truck all summer, come winter whats in there will freeze like water, there are no more alcohols or other products left in the fluid to keep it from freezing, before every winter, if you have fluid left in your tanks, empty them and put new product in before the very cold months start.

Funny, I just read a post about this. I had the same problem as it's been in the -20's in Ohio. Windchills were around -40 earlier this week. I'm buying better rated washer fluid and hoping it helps.

Finally got the problem fixed. I broke down and took off the grill and drained the "washer fluid" and replaced with a better grade. The line is right there in the front of the truck and I can see how it could get frozen very easily.
